Cradle of Hope


SYNOPSIS:

King Gregor lost his wife and six-month-old son. In deep despair, he consults an Oracle who predicts that a child born to one of his servants will one day occupy the throne. The king's seemingly-faithful advisor Nemos wants to kill the child, but a young servant puts the baby in a basket, sending it down the river to safety. Xena and Gabrielle find the child and while trying to locate its parents, save Pandora's granddaughter from being lynched. Nemos' men try to get the baby, but steal Pandora's Box instead. When they offer Xena the Box in exchange for the child, she refuses. Disguised as a dancer, she enters Gregor's castle, subdues Nemos, and grabs the Box. Understanding what the prophecy means, she convinces Gregor to adopt the baby. His plans to usurp the throne thwarted, Nemos and his men engage Xena in a fierce battle, but are defeated. The King asks Pandora to stay on and take care of the baby who will be his heir.
